  • The clown gobies are etlermexy territorial against each other and housing multiple, even in a 200 gallon, is not advised. I haven’t tried the multiple clown goby directly in a 200, but have tried multiple mandarin dragonettes in a 200 which are similarly territorial, and the dominant male made short order of the others aside from his mate which he tolerated. The anthias you should have multiple female to the males. One male to two+female is a great stocking. The two sets of clownfish will fight. They might be fine as younger juveniles, but I know from experience in a 300 gallon that a pair of maroons will take over the entire tank and war with any other clowns. I had originally a pair of percula and a pair of maroons in a 300 gallon reef and the percula had to be removed in short order. The female maroon even got so territorial as to attack coral and even rock she thought was too close to her anemone and that didn’t fit into her decorating plan!Suggested changes:Pick one pair of clownfish and stick to one pair of clown gobies (if you can find a pair). Add more female to the harem of the anthias instead. Yes, I have heard that multiple clown gobies can be house if added simultaneously in a larger tank, but have never personally seen this work. I would imagine you would need creative aquascaping so each could have a distinct rock pile area, and all would have to be added at once. So I’m not exactly saying it is impossible, but it is ill-advised. Since the anthias will be better with more female added to the group, and they are more active fish anyway, a safer and better tank in my opinion would cut back on the potential problem fish and increase the numbers of anthias.Tang can get aggressive with each other and similar fish, like the angel and butterfly, but I have kept those species together before. Add the tang in last, and the two together.
